    The Administrative Offices serve as the principal link between the City Council, City staff, and the public. Our goal is to provide the best public service possible to all involved with the City whether they are residents, businesses, staff, or an elected official.

    The City Administrator, City Clerk and Deputy Clerk, City Treasurer and Treasurer Assistant, Customer Service Representative, and Mayor’s Assistant work in the administrative offices.

  • Enforcement

    The Enforcement Office enforces City Ordinances related to animals and property.

    Animals

    The Enforcement Office performs a wide variety of services which include stray or unwanted animal pick-ups, animal ordinance enforcement, dog and kennel licensing enforcement, and more.

    Residents are encouraged to visit cityofammon.us/animals for specific information related to having pets or housing animals within the City limits.

    We encourage everyone to spay and neuter their pets!

    Property

    The Enforcement Office also enforces zoning ordinances, including those regulating on-street parking, abandoned vehicles, excessive or noxious weeds or junk or litter, and nuisance complaints. The Enforcement Office also deals with home businesses operating without a business license.

  • Engineering

    The Public Works Director & City Engineer’s Office works closely with the Public Works Department in the construction, inspection, maintenance, and operation of the City’s municipal infrastructure. Typical responsibilities include the oversight of design, permitting, review and inspection, monitoring and repairing of water, sewer, and drainage systems, as well as roads and pathways. The Engineer’s Office also coordinates with consultants and bids and awards contracts in its efforts to successfully complete projects efficiently and cost effectively.

    The Public Works Director & City Engineer also represents the City of Ammon on numerous regional boards and committees providing invaluable technical feedback and local representation on behalf of City officials, staff, and residents.

    The Engineer’s Office is available to answer questions on drainage, sewer, and other land development issues, in addition to performing technical reviews for site plans and subdivision plans. Our goal is to provide residents with the highest quality customer service, with integrity, and utmost professionalism.

  • Treasurer

    The City Treasurer is the appointed custodian of all City funds. The Treasurer’s Office works closely with City Council in the development, implementation, and management of the City budget. The Treasurer is responsible for the receipt and disbursement of all City funds, including payroll checks. Funds not needed for daily operations are invested to earn income for the city and its citizens.

    The goal of the Treasurer’s Office is to maintain integrity and transparency in the use of public funds for the benefit of all.

    Mayor-appointed and Council-confirmed citizen boards and commissions advise the City on a wide range of policy issues and play an important role in the administration of municipal services. Citizens serving in this capacity receive no compensation. Their service to the community is greatly appreciated.

    Planning and Zoning Commission

    With duties defined by Title 67, Chapter 65 of the Idaho Code, this commission makes recommendations to the City Council respecting comprehensive planning, zoning, and subdivision regulations.
