Mayor-appointed and Council-confirmed citizen boards and commissions advise the City on a wide range of policy issues and play an important role in the administration of municipal services. Citizens serving in this capacity receive no compensation. Their service to the community is greatly appreciated.
Planning and Zoning Commission
With duties defined by Title 67, Chapter 65 of the Idaho Code, this commission makes recommendations to the City Council respecting comprehensive planning, zoning, and subdivision regulations.

Conducts hearings for appeals of the decisions made by the Building Official as it relates to the interpretation of the various adopted building codes.

Traffic Commission:
The Commission studies the traffic throughout the City to eliminate special hazards, promote traffic safety by traffic controls, laws, regulations, and other means, and make recommendations to the
Council concerning traffic safety from time to time. The Commission also serves as the Board of Hearing for appeals of parking infraction citations.
